I just returned from a great trip toSwaziland, a country roughly the size of New Jersey surrounded by South Africa and Mozambique. Swaziland has about 1 million people, and has the unfortunate distinction of having the worlds highest rate of HIV/AIDS, 25.9%, and therefore a life expectancy of 48 years of age. Having said that, the part of Swaziland I saw was beautiful, with gorgeous lavender Jacaranda trees and rolling hills.I was there as a speaker for the US Embassy and had the privilege of speaking with young leaders, women leaders and civil society leaders about best practices in communication and advocacy. I came away impressed by both the challenges faced and the commitment of these leaders to building a bright future for Swaziland.
