You don’t often hear Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called a girl, but she was called just that on a powerful and touching video tribute to her featured at the National Partnership for Women & Families annual lunch, where Secretary Clinton also was honored. Her speech was both funny and serious, and ranged from talking about her own experience with being a pregnant lawyer and facing work related issues to the need for the inclusion of women’s voices in peace and security. It was a reminder of how so many issues are linked together, with a common thread of needing to listen to the voices and experiences of women and girls and include those voices in decisions that get made every day, about every topic.
